A Bridesmaids dress is born!!!!

As you all know, I will be the Maid of Honour in my Sisters up-coming Wedding, June 18th.

Geez Louise, that's less than a month away!!!!

As you also know, me being me, I simply wasn't about to fork over tons of dough for a dress that (in my opinion) would be sub-par. Really, WHO pays $300 for a polyester stretch dress!!!??

Anyone!?  Anyone!?

I thought not.

Quite luckily for me, I have been given the honour of designing and making 2 fabulous frocks for Monica's big day.

My Sisters are just that awesome that they trust me with this!

No pressure or anything!........

So, on my 35th Birthday today, I have chosen to spend the day blocking out the patterns for both my dress and my Sister-in-Law (and fellow Bridesmaid) Kathryn's dress.

I promise you, this is fun for me!!!

I put my favorite (pink silk) handkerchief around my head (a la Rosie the Riveter), threw on my leopard print ballet flats, and went to it like a sartorial worker bee!

I looked like a happy whack-job buzzing and dancing around with my ipod, all giddy and laughing.

For Kathryn, I've chosen to go with a halter dress to show off her fabulous shoulders and stunning jaw line!

If anyone can pull of this look, it's her!

Just think Turner Classic Movie-Screen-Siren.

I think I'm gonna have to make one for myself later......

Always remember K.I.S.S. my fellow Ninjas....

Keep
It
Simple
Stoopid

The theory that less is more exists for a reason.  And because of this, it is my most sincere hope that this will become Kathryn's "go-to" LBD for years to come.

Fingers crossed-heart hopeful.

I decided to make my dress even more basic. Btw, that's going to be black tulle peeking out from the bottom.  *Giggle*

But with the right darts and a well placed ribbon, it will have the understated elegance that most dresses lack these days.
Did I mention how much fun it is to try on a paper dress?

It is, it really, REALLY is!!!!

Et Voila!  The dress blocks are DONE!!!!!

I can't wait to show you the finished product and how fabulous and amazing Kathryn (and hopefully myself) will look!.....but there is no way we will look as magical as the Bride herself.

But you'll have to wait until her big day to see that!

Stay Gorgeous Darlings!

Settin' a trend!

I have decided that it's ALL about double belts!!!!

Why choose between 2 when you can just wear both!?
